If you let someone borrow your car and they cause an accident, you are just as responsible as if you were driving the car. In fact, if you evade service, the state will accept service on your behalf, the Plaintiff can proceed to judgment, and your license will be suspended until the debt is paid in full. See Florida Statute 48.171.
